We at Ölgerðin produce, import and sell beverages and food products, and distribute them to stores around Iceland. We emphasise offering first-class products and top-quality services to our customers. We only put new products on the market if they have the potential to become market leaders in their respective categories, and we treat each supplier as if it is our only supplier. We are constantly seeking new methods for improving our operations and increasing productivity by being ahead of the game in terms of quality and timing. Ölgerðin had three sales and marketing divisions: Alcohol-Free Beverages, Alcoholic Beverages and Corporate Services of Ölgerðin and Danól wholesaler.
Alcohol-free beverages
Ölgerðin is Iceland’s largest beverage producer and owns many of the oldest and best-known brands in Iceland, such as Egils Appelsín and Egils Malt, the latter of which has been produced since 1913. In addition, Ölgerðin has been licensed to produce and sell products under the well-known brands of the companies Carlsberg Group and Pepsico.
Alcoholic beverages
Ölgerðin is the largest producer of alcoholic beverages in Iceland and owns many of the best-known brands in the country, such as Gull, Boli, Brennivín and others. Together with its own brands, Ölgerðin produces brands with licence from Carlsberg Group in Denmark, e.g. Carlsberg, Tuborg Classic, Tuborg Grön, Tuborg Julebryg and more. Ölgerðin is also one of the country’s largest importer of wines, strong spirits and alcopops. Great emphasis is placed on only importing high-quality brands.

Danól
Ölgerðin holds a 100% stake in Danól. Danól is an independent sales and marketing company, which sells food and specialty products of various kind. Emphasis is placed on quality products and that customers can rely on a high level of service. Only products, which have the potential to become market leaders in their respective categories, are released on the market.
Iceland Spring
Ölgerðin holds a 51% stake in Iceland Spring. Other shareholders are non-Icelandic. Ölgerðin is responsible for bottling Icelandic water for Iceland Spring, but international sales and marketing are in the hands of Iceland Spring. The company’s subsidiary, Pure Distribution, is responsible for sales in the US.
