Two Icelandic products nominated for the World Beverage Innovation Awards 2025

Two Icelandic products have been nominated for the World Beverage Innovation Awards 2025, which are being presented this week in Munich. The nominated products are Kristall+, a functional water, and P*RN, a new alcoholic sparkling wine that has taken Iceland by storm this summer.

“Such a nomination is a tremendous honor for us — it’s not every day that Icelandic production receives this kind of international recognition, let alone with two products,”
says Guðni Þór Sigurjónsson, Head of Innovation and Growth at Ölgerðin.

New from Tuborg - Little Christmas

Sales of Christmas beer begin in the country on Thursday, and on Friday is the so-called J-day. That is when Tuborg Christmas beer starts being poured in the town’s bars at 8:59 PM. As is well known, Tuborg has long been the most popular Christmas beer in the country, and now a new version of it is being introduced. It is called Tuborg Lille Jul and was developed by the brewers of Ölgerðin. It is lighter than its predecessor and will no doubt be well received by fans of such beers. Regular enthusiasts, however, have no need to worry that the old favorite is being phased out; it’s simply that the Christmas snow falls twice as much this year. „Samstarf Ölgerðarinnar við Carlsberg, sem meðal annars á Tuborg-vörumerkið, er langt og farsælt og saga bjóra þeirra samofin íslenskri bjórmenningu. Eins og þjóðin þekkir hafa bjórarnir Tuborg og Carlsberg, sem eru bruggaðir hérlendis, verið meðal vinsælustu erlendu bjórvörumerkja hér á landi áratugum saman.
