The equality policy is Ölgerðin’s commitment to continuous improvements in equality and diversity issues. Ölgerðin bases its policy on legislations no. 150/2020 and 86/2019 on the prohibition against discrimination on the employment market due to race, nationality, religion, belief system, disability, financial situation, skin colour, family connections, work limitations, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender characteristics or gender expression.

Education and training

Ölgerðin’s employees are the company’s most valuable resource. The wellbeing of employees is vital. They are given the opportunity to grow by appropriate training. Success at work leads to increased responsibility and rewards within the company.

Analyses of education needs within the company are made on a regular basis with focus groups and interviews. Effective digital education is offered by the company, where employees can attend courses at their own pace and convenience. In the digital education system, employees have an overview of what kind of courses are available and what courses they have already completed.
